Merry Christmas, Evelyn!

"Once or twice a week, sometimes more, Evelyn drives people to medical appointments and waits until they are ready to go home again. Then she gives them a ride home, never accepting anything more than a Thank You."

Merry Christmas, BRUCE!

"Submitted by MTD

His lyrics celebrate 'everyman'; lift, inspire, delight, dignify. His music wraps you in its arms; pounds, leaps, thrills, dares. His presence, larger than life, is life-affirming. He gives without taking, hopes without wavering, believes without relenting. His energy, passion, life flash pure joy, while his music, lyrics, voice salve the hopelessness lurking in too many hearts. Like so many, lost and broken after the September Day of Death, he poured anguish, horror, outrage, pain and loss into The Rising; mixing and stirring his melodies with the glimmers of hope that breathe to spite despair. Merry Christmas, Nurse and Care-giver Mel!

"The Christmas of 2006 was a rather dark one for our family. While our neighbors' homes donned their holiday best, the world seemed a little too icy for Christmas cheer at our house. This was the Christmas they sent my brother home to decide his fate. Was he too sick with lymphoma to live? Or would he muster enough strength from the depths of his chemo-ravaged body to survive? We were all too scared to know the answer, but we carried him home, Tiny Tim-like, to fulfill his request to spend Christmas at home." Story continued...

Merry Christmas, Ms. Sue from Four Seasons!

"Moms drop their kids off at daycare and babysitters every day, hoping that the people in charge of their babies will nurture and care for them as if they are the most special gift in the world. When I drop Luke and Anthony off I KNOW my boys are loved and nurtured every day by the wonderful staff at Four Seasons. One teacher in particular has loved, cared for, nurtured and treated Luke and Anthony like they are true treasures. "Our Ms. Sue" as she is lovingly referred to around our house has not only had a major influence in the lives of our boys but she has also helped my husband and me to grow, learn and become better parents. Congratulations, Diane K.!

"Diane is an integral part of our church and her smiling face and encouraging manner are a welcoming invitation all year long. Her loving, compassionate nature is a gift to those of us that are fortunate enough to call her a friend. She truly embodies the Christmas spirit of loving and giving to everyone she meets, just as Jesus did." Story continued...

Merry Christmas, Claudia A.!

"I am writing about one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Her name is Claudia and she and her husband Ken have three children. I know that many people have many kids in their families, but this family is really quite extraordinary. Claudia has the most amazing positive attitude I have ever seen. Her two daughters have cystic fibrosis that has had them hospitalized every single year since I have known them." Story continued...

Congratulations David B.!

"David B. has faithfully, lovingly, and cheerfully taken care of his beloved wife, Mary for the past 40 years or so. Inflicted with MS as a young woman, Mary has become more and more disabled. He makes her laugh and has a great sense of humor. I've never heard him complain. David has to dress Mary completely every day, but he looks at it as an opportunity for some fun."David's great compassion, humor, joy and love for Mary make him a one-of-a-kind hero at Christmas, and every day of the year!" Merry Christmas, Jenna and Bethany K.!

"The two people who hold my Christmas in their hands are my two youngest daughters. This past year has been so hard for all of us, but without the love and caring of my two youngest daughters, Jenna - age 8 and Bethany - age 14, I could not have made it." Story continued...

Congratulations Nancy Weber!

"I would like to nominate a special woman for the "Follow the Star" contest. I call her Mrs. Weber, but my Mom says her name is also Nancy. Mrs. Weber is a very kind lady who takes great care of me during my school day. She is my personal aide and she helps keep me on track and helps me navigate my day, which makes learning a lot easier for me." Story continued...
